      The Shangri-Las是1960年代美國的女子流行團體。這個團體在1963的紐約的安德魯傑克森高中組成，是由兩對姐妹所組成，其中一對還是雙胞胎。這首歌在1964年為告示榜的第一名。這首歌的製作人摩騰本來是寫給別人唱的，後來這個女子團體需要一首歌，於是就請她們來錄音，當時的樂手記得這首歌錄了再錄，總共錄了62次，製作人才滿意。這首歌最經典的就是中間的摩托車聲音，其實那是用效果器作出來的。

      這首歌描寫的是一個女孩貝蒂跟摩托車幫的男生吉米約會，當她見到吉米一見鍾情，但她的父母親不同意，導致她非常的難過，她的父母親告訴吉米會帶來不好的影響給她的女寫，她們跟貝蒂說跟吉米說再見，再找尋一個新的男友。貝蒂順從了她的父母，吉米非常失望，騎車走了，因為騎的太快發生車禍也死了。
