這首歌是由Kenny Young 和 Arthur Resnick所寫，1964年The Drifters所灌錄。歌詞描寫一對戀人在海邊的某一個城巿約會，他們相約在晚上，在沙灘上的步道上，遠離別人的目光。這首歌的樂器用鋸琴、三角鐵及小提琴，歌曲進行很不尋常的從大調轉到小調，曲子的開頭用參考The Drifters很紅的一首歌up on the roof，表現屋頂的溫暖轉換到另類的約會地點沙灘步道。

這首曲子本來預定要在1964年5月21日錄製，但他們的主唱Rudy Lewis在前一天晚上因為吸毒過量而過世了，最後由他們的前團員也是前主唱Johnny Moore，完成這次的錄音。
