〈You Can't Always Get What You Want〉是出自英國搖滾團體The Rolling Stones的專輯《Let It Bleed》的一首歌，由Mick Jagger和Keith Richards共同創作。這首歌是1968年11月16、17日在倫敦所錄製的。倫敦巴哈合唱團有力的開場，讓整首歌非常的喧鬧。當時的製作人Jimmy Miller擔任鼓手。雖然Jagger和Jimi Hendrix 在發行那首歌時是好朋友，不過在歌詞裡"I sang my song to Mr. Jimmy"的Jimmy是指他們的製作人兼鼓手的Jimmy Miller，在其他的歌詞裡"and he said one word to me and that was dead"中有提到dead這個字，是當時他們對很喜歡的事都用dead來表示。關於這首歌，Jagger在2003年表示：「這首歌是他在床上彈著吉他所寫的，它在錄音的時候非常困難，在他的腦中還有合唱團的出現，福音合唱團，不過在這點上從來沒有實行過，Jack Nitzsche還是別人就說，那不然就倫敦巴哈合唱團好了，那一定很好笑吧。」在回顧這首歌，Richie Unterberger 提及：「如果你買John Lennon的觀察，他說滾石合唱團很會拷貝披頭四的創意，這首歌就是滾石合唱團的〈Hey Jude〉。」Jagger在1969年說：「我喜歡披頭四的〈Hey Jude〉這首歌合唱團的部分，不會蓋過歌曲的全部，像是很特別的部分，也許在下一張專輯我會這樣做。」這首歌的三段歌詞緊緊扣住1960年代的三大主題〞愛、政治及毒品〝。每一段歌詞都表現最初的樂觀但最後幻滅，在這接下來合唱的實用主義部分。Unterberger對這首歌下了結論：「很多歌曲的歌詞反映了1960年過長的派對，當搖擺倫敦快速發生。那是本質上的解釋，但還是要指出有很多令人開心的及鼓舞的旋律及表演。特別是在這首歌的主要所要闡述的，當我們不能總是拿到我們想要的，不過我們將獲得我們所需要的。」
