      這首歌是美國龐克搖滾團體Green Day在2004所發行的同名專輯裡，他們本來要收錄在《Cigarettes and Valentines》專輯中，但所有的錄好的東西被偷了，於是他們決定錄一張搖滾歌劇，受另一個搖滾團體The Who的啟發。

      在丟掉之前錄好的20首歌曲，團裡的主唱兼吉他手Billie Joe Armstrong 跟他們團員說，我們要向前看，要做出全新的東西，於是他們開始錄製新專輯《American Idiot》，他們的這張專輯的中心主題是郊外的耶穌。
